The sustainable future of solar energy depends on recycling. The expansion of photovoltaics in Europe faces the challenge of making the value chain circular and sustainable. Silicon, irreplaceable in many essential products, is classified by the European Union as a Critical Raw Material (CRM) due to its high supply risk and economic importance. Current production is carbon- and energy-intensive and generates low-value waste; it is essential to move away from waste production towards circularity.

In this webinar, we will present the innovative results achieved in this field by the RESILEX project, which aims to make the European photovoltaic industry safer and more sustainable through the use of secondary raw materials.
