Tenerrdis is contributing to the PRHyUS project (co-funded by Interreg Europe), aimed at advancing public policies in favor of hydrogen, which will run until 2029. A look back at the 2ᵉ partnership event held in Krakow in early October.

From October 7 to 9, 2025, the partners in the European PRHyUS (Promoting Renewable Hydrogen Utilization for a Sustainable and Greener Europe) project held their second consortium meeting in Krakow, Poland.

Three days of exchanges organized by the Polish "Energie Cités" network, with experience-sharing on regional hydrogen strategies in Europe. The highlight of the event: a visit to Rybnik, already home to 20 hydrogen-powered buses (14 more are expected), Silesia's first H2 station and the future Hydrogen Competence Centre of the Silesian University of Technology.

A structuring role for Tenerrdis

Within the consortium, Tenerrdis has a number of missions. In particular, the cluster is leading a group of stakeholders in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes to identify best practices and the obstacles to be overcome to stimulate hydrogen demand, based on their concrete experiences. The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region is supporting the cluster's activities in this project, as an associate partner.

" We're contributing to a socio-territorial analysis of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region to position the hydrogen ecosystem, now and in the future," explains Valentin Maillot, PRHyUS project manager for Tenerrdis.

At the same time, cost-benefit analyses will be carried out at macro (territory) and micro (project) levels, to help inform decision-making.

Tenerrdis is also in charge of identifying potential hydrogen consumption in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and establishing a replicable methodology for the other project partners.

Recognized hydrogen expertise

Tenerrdis' involvement in the PRHyUS project builds on more than 10 years' experience in the hydrogen sector. As operator of the regional Hydrogen Roadmap with the Cara (mobility) and Axelera (chemistry and environment) clusters, Tenerrdis today federates over a hundred members of the sector, covering the entire value chain.

" We are able to draw on a wide range of knowledge and skills in our network, bringing together technology players such as companies and research players, schools, training providers and local authorities ," emphasizes Valentin Maillot.

Concrete benefits expected

For the regional ecosystem, PRHyUS represents an opportunity to gain a better understanding of the regulations and opportunities in other European countries, whose market, grid and energy production contexts differ from France. " It helps us come up with ideas to speed up hydrogen projects in France, based on the successes of other European partners ", predicts Valentin Maillot, who is in charge of the project's development.cises Valentin Maillot, who has already put two of the cluster's members in touch with stakeholders from other consortium partners during the project's initial travels.

Working with the stakeholder group, Tenerrdis will help identify best practices. The aim is to identify around 50 practices, the best of which will be designated "Gold" and given priority for communication. These recommendations will then feed into proposals for revisions to public policies submitted to the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region and other European authorities.

A project in the context of a weakened industry

At a time when the hydrogen industry is seeking to consolidate its development, "it's vital to work together to identify the most relevant applications, using a technology-neutral approach ", stresses Valentin Maillot. "There are relevant uses for hydrogen, but it's not necessarily what we think of spontaneously ", he insists. The challenge is to capitalize on France's international lead and turn it into an industrial opportunity that creates jobs and skills, in the face of competition from foreign players.

Next step: Tenerrdis will host the consortium and organize visits to exemplary regional sites in autumn 2026. Interested in having your site visited? Contact us now!
