The Innovation Fund is one of the world's largest funding programs. It will provide around €38 billion of support between 2020 and 2030 for the commercial demonstration of innovative low-carbon technologies.
The next Innovation Fund call will be launched in early December 2024 and will aim to fund projects in a range of sectors, including decarbonization, clean-tech manufacturing, the maritime sector and energy-intensive industries. Applications will be open until spring 2025.
New for 2025: particular emphasis will be placed on projects for the production of EV batteries in Europe. A specific call for projects will be dedicated to this.
