Horizon Europe Cluster 5 covers climate, energy and mobility. It is the most relevant cluster for players in the energy transition.

• Destination 2 : Cross-sector solutions for the climate transition

This destination covers cross-cutting themes that can provide solutions for climate, energy and mobility. These are essentially themes such as batteries and energy communities.

• Destination 3: A sustainable, secure and competitive energy supply

This destination includes activities targeting a sustainable, safe and competitive energy supply. It includes the production of renewable energies, the reinforcement of energy systems and grids, storage issues and the capture and recovery of carbon dioxide, as well as the elimination of atmospheric carbon dioxide.

• Destination 4: Efficient, sustainable and inclusive use of energy

This destination targets energy demand, in particular the more efficient use of energy in buildings and industry. Its two main objectives are "A highly energy-efficient and climate-neutral European building stock" and "Improving the energy efficiency of energy-intensive industries".

• Destination 5 : Clean, competitive solutions for all modes of transport

The aim of this destination is to improve the environmental and climatic impact, as well as the competitiveness, of all modes of transport.

Four themes are addressed: zero emissions road transport, aviation, water transport and transport-related environmental and health issues.
