The Metropole de Lyon supports you with the Éco-Chaleur bonus, to encourage the emergence of facilities using renewable heat. Benefit from subsidies and free support for the duration of your project!

Changing your heating system: why and how?

Heating is the biggest energy consumption item in the Lyon metropolitan area: heating buildings and industry. The Éco-Chaleur incentive is available to all local players, except individuals (local authorities, social landlords, condominiums, companies, developers, associations), to support the switch to renewable heat.

  • What is renewable heat?

It's heat produced from renewable sources (wood, geothermal or solar thermal, for example) for the production of heating and domestic hot water.

  • Why choose renewable heat?
  1. Heat with an efficient, competitive solution
  2. Reduce your carbon footprint and your dependence on fossil fuels
  3. Help create local jobs and use non-disposable resources.

With the Éco-Chaleur bonus, you can benefit from subsidies and free support throughout the life of your project.

  1. Advice for project developers

The Metropole, supported by ALEC Lyon, guides project developers in their technical, organizational and financial choices.

  1. Support for preliminary studies

The scheme subsidizes the cost of preliminary studies up to 70% of the total cost.

  1. Financing work

The Éco-Chaleur incentive grants subsidies for work up to 65% of the total cost of the installation.

For which projects?

  • Wood-fired heating systems
  • Solar thermal panels
  • Geothermal heat pumps
  • Creation or extension of heating networks

The Eco-Heat Incentive is one of the tools put in place to meet the objectives of the Lyon Metropolitan Area's Territorial Climate Air Energy Plan: by 2030, reduce energy consumption in the area by 30% compared with 2000, double local production of renewable and recovered energies, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 43%.

The Prime Éco-Chaleur is a regional delegation of the Fonds Chaleur, supported by the Metropole de Lyon, ALEC Lyon and financed by ADEME.
