As a strategic partner in the economic development and energy transition of local players, the Caisse d'Epargne Rhône Alpes has coordinated a €100 million syndicated loan with Groupe BPCE for Waga Energy, the leading producer of renewable natural gas.

Convinced of the sustainability of WAGABOX technology, a truly disruptive innovation designed by Waga Energy to transform biogas from waste into biomethane, the Innovation Agency of Caisse d'Epargne Rhône Alpes has been involved in financing the Isère-based startup since 2015. Today, Waga Energy is listed on Euronext Paris and its technology is expanding internationally.

As part of a banking pool that also includes Natixis and Banque Populaire Auvergne Rhône Alpes, both also part of Groupe BPCE, Caisse d'Epargne Rhône Alpes is co-arranger of the deal. Collaboration between Agence Innovation and the Financial Engineering Department of Caisse d'Epargne Rhône Alpes made this syndicated green loan possible.

Thanks to a solid partner in a regional bank, Waga Energy will be able to develop its business in support of the energy transition, demonstrating the importance of fruitful collaboration between the financial sector and local businesses.

Love it
