Performance measurement is no longer an option!

The webinar "What innovations in energy performance measurement for industry?" held on June 3, during which various professional practices were presented, highlighted the contribution of MPV (Measurement and Verification Plan) methods to the implementation of projects that are expected to deliver clear improvements in energy performance. Being able to measure real savings increases confidence between stakeholders, while complying with regulatory obligations.

Recent regulatory developments - notably the law of April 30, 2025 resulting from the European Energy Efficiency Directive (EU 2023/1791) - now require companies consuming more than 2.75 GWh/year to draw up an action plan with measured tracking of gains. Energy improvement projects will have to demonstrate results based on verifiable, contextualized indicators. M&V thus becomes not only a steering tool, but also a compliance criterion. By laying the right technical foundations to anticipate these requirements, the speakers in this webinar, including ROZO and 3E Performance, share their experience based on real-life cases.

These cases are based on IPMVP protocols and/or are part of ISO 50001 certification and/or the implementation of PPE (Plan de Performance Energétique) or CPE (Contrat de Performance Energétique). They have the particularity of involving projects with significant variables, and therefore challenge more traditional approaches: strong evolution of energy consumption (growth or slowdown), diversification of production, renewal of technical equipment... Thanks to these presentations, we can see that a measurement plan helps to justify a TURPE rebate application, and can lead to a slightly higher level of investment aid, and better energy control. Verified measurements also come with a confidence level. It was also made clear that these methods can be used in the design phase of energy efficiency projects.
